Today is the last day of my internship in Italy. and Today, I reflect on many things I will miss about Italy…
-Arancia Rossa, or red (blood) orange juice. its awesome and difficult to get home.
-2 Euro bottles of wine that are fabulous. There are 1 Euro bottles too but they tend to get questionable.
-Italian cheeses - parmigiano reggiano, pecorino, ricotta, marscapone, fontina….
-Gorgeous drive to work
-Fields of sunflowers
-Tuscan summer
-Living next to grape vineyard and an olive tree
-Hearing the Italian language
-Italian radio (RTL102.5)
-My Brasiliani friends from work
-Travelling to fabulous places every weekend
-Less processed food, more fresh food
-Long meals with many courses
-Frizzante water (carbonated)
-Olive oil on the table, and delicious olive oil everywhere
-Putting olive oil on french fries (its good)
-Basil and rosemary growing like weeds on the front steps
-Gelato
-Walking into town and through il campo, getting lost in the streets
-Eating pasta at least once a day
-Living in a Tuscan villa and the people who run Villa il Pino
-Learning Italian with our carissima Italian teacher Giancarla
-Amusement of observing a different culture
-The TLPs, people in a young engineer’s development program at work from all over the world
-Siestas and the priority for family and work-life balance
-Cappuccino and espresso with my friends …AH! Italy got me drinking coffee.. but still not the American kind!
