A key component of the LGO program is that each student writes a thesis about our six month internship (more details on the internship here). Here is my thesis - written, signed, and submitted!

“Capacity Analysis, Cycle Time Optimization, and Supply Chain Strategy in Multi-Product Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Operations”

The thesis is a mandatory component for the SM in Engineering that LGOs earn, and optional for MBAs.
While a thesis can seem to be a huge task, we’re not alone in our journey. In addition to our classmates and co-workers, we have two advisors - one from our engineering department and one from the school of management - to help guide us during the project and with the thesis. The MIT Libraries are also an incredible resource for research and project ideas - I will certainly miss the libraries!
Overall, the thesis writing experience was really a great opportunity to apply skills we’ve learned at MIT, organize my project clearly during execution, reflect on my internship while writing, and summarize my work in a long written document. If you’re very eager, check out LGO theses on DSpace (mine and the other LGO’11 theses will be added later this summer).
